Born in UK, BSc Mechanical Engineering – London University.
Joined Kelly and Lewis as Regional Manager SE Asia in 1977 before moving to Melbourne in 1981. Has held senior positions in TBJ and Ajax Pumps. Spent 4 years in Hong Kong and China for KSB to finalise the Joint Venture with Shanghai Pumps Works.
Completed an MBA at Deakin University before starting Australian Industrial Marketing in 1997 providing consultancy services and training programs to the Pump Industry.

Harry Katunar

Harry started in Sydney with Ajax Pumps in 1978. He established Prime Pumps in Sydney in 1984.
He has held management roles with Siemens Automation & Drives, and Aggreko Generators. He has also worked with KSB in Hong Kong & China.
Harry is a graduate of Latrobe University, B.Business (Mgt & Mkt).

John Link has been a member of the Pump Industry Association in many of its forms for more than 33 years and for the last few years on the main Committee.
Link Pumps was founded in 1959 and it is the company’s 50th Anniversary in 2010.
Link Pumps has grown to be one of the bigger industrial pump hire companies in Australia and have nearly 750 pumps for hire with a wide range of diesel engines, electric motors and hydraulic drives. They range from Sundyne pumps which rotate at 25,000 rpm with inducers on the impellers, peristaltic pumps, large dosing pumps, gear and piston pumps and a variety of diesel engines up to 1200 hp and transportable fire pumps.
Colin Nash – Councillor

Colin trained as a chemical engineer and has spent over 20 years in the Australian water industry. In 1987 he was one of the first sales engineer’s with the fledgling membrane company Memtec, pioneering large scale microfiltration for municipal water treatment. For the last 6 years Colin has been GM of Marketing for Davey Water Products, specializing in small scale water pumping, domestic water treatment and water conservation. Davey has led the market in Rainwater harvesting technology with its patented Rainbank® system and exports many innovative products to over 50 countries.
Ron Astall – Vice President

Ron Astall is a Mechanical Engineer withlong pump industry experience including Engineering, Contract Management, Applications, Sales, Marketing and Quality Assurance; particularly in the Process and Petrochemical Industries inhis role at United Pumps Australia.With his consultancy, Astech Pumping Services and through Strategic Achievement, he has also been an active provider of pump industrytraining.

Alan has spent the best part of 50 years in the Pump Industry with just a few short breaks. He arrived in Australia from Scotland via New Zealand in 1976 to work nearly 10years at Ingersoll-Rand, this was followed by over 10 years at Kelair Pumps then a short stint at Southern Cross with final 5 years at Link Pumps before going into semi retirement at the end of 2005. He still does part time work in the industry.
In the late 70′s to early 80′s Alan served on the Technical Committee until 1987. He also joined Council in 1981 and served until around 1992 including 3 years as President. In 2003 he rejoined Council and over an almost 2 year period from mid 2006 produced the latest editions of the Technical and Friction Handbooks.

CEO of Brown Brothers Engineers Ltd NZ, Brown Brothers Engineers Australia Pty Ltd, and Kelair Pumps Australia Pty Ltd.
Joined Brown Brothers Engineers Ltd in Christchurch, NZ in 1986 and moved to Australia in January 2000.
Prior to joining Brown Brothers worked for a firm of Engineering Consultants in Christchurch for 12 years involved in the design and construction of rural water supply schemes, and feasibility studies for large irrigation schemes.
During this time spent two years in Western Samoa as part of NZ’s bilateral aid agreement with the Western Samoan Gov’t designing and constructing small village based water supply schemes on the islands of Upolu and Savaii.
Brown Brothers Engineers was formed in 1908 and is one of NZ’s oldest pump companies. Brown Brothers and Kelair Pumps are part of the Mace Group of Companies a third generation family owned engineering company headquartered in Christchurch, NZ.
Brad Antrim – Councillor

Commenced in the pump industry back in 1982 and been in the industry ever since. Worked for a small family company [Thorbil Industries] for 7 years importing predominantly multistage pumps for the packaged steam boiler and HVAC industry. This was followed by over 14 years at H Slater & Son in industrial pump sales and sales management. Then worked with Malcolm Thompson Pumps for just over 5 years, again serving the industrial pump sector. Presently working with Grundfos Pumps Australia [for near on 4 years] recently moving into national product management [industry segment] based in our Melbourne sales office
